Rancho Santa Fe Tennis Club Hosts SoCal Pro Tennis Series Featuring Local Rising Players
The Rancho Santa Fe Tennis Club recently played host to the SoCal Pro Tennis Series, a prestigious event featuring up-and-coming local players from Southern California. The tournament, now in its third year, is part of a seven-week-long men’s and women’s professional tennis series on the USTA Pro Circuit and ITF World Tennis Tour.
Organized by USTA Southern California, the Rancho Santa Fe event was a $15,000 men’s and women’s combined event, attracting talented players from the region. Club Manager John Chanfreau expressed pride in hosting the tournament, stating that it has helped many young players in Southern California achieve their dreams of competing at a professional level.
Among the standout players from the Rancho Santa Fe Tennis Club were Jacob Brumm, Alex Stafford, Ethan Schiffman, and William Kleege, who all showcased their skills on the court. The women’s doubles side also saw Torrey Pines’ rising senior Alyssa Ahn making it to the quarterfinals.
In an exciting matchup, Brumm faced off against Kleege in the first round, with Brumm ultimately emerging victorious and advancing to the quarterfinals. The tournament culminated in Carlsbad resident Julieta Pareja becoming the youngest singles champion in SoCal Pro Series history, while Joshua Charlton and Patrick Maloney claimed the men’s doubles title.
The success of the Rancho Santa Fe event sets the stage for the upcoming tournament at the Jack Kramer Club in Rolling Hills Estates, promising more thrilling matches and opportunities for local players to shine on the professional tennis circuit.
