“States Offering Cash Back for Eco-Friendly Home Upgrades: How to Save Money and Go Green”
The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) is offering cash back incentives for eco-friendly home upgrades, and many states have already jumped on board. Through the Home Energy Rebates program, states can apply for funding to provide residents with rebates for energy-saving improvements to their homes.
Each state sets its own requirements for the program, so the types of upgrades that qualify for cash back vary depending on where you live. From energy-efficient appliances like dishwashers and refrigerators to solar panels and HVAC equipment, there are plenty of opportunities to save money while reducing your carbon footprint.
As of now, New York State is the only one with a fully operational rebate system, but five other states (California, Hawaii, Washington, Wisconsin, and Maine) have had their applications approved. Thirteen other states and the District of Columbia have also submitted applications, making them eligible for early funding to kickstart their programs.
With a total of $2.7 billion in funding available, states are eager to help residents make their homes more energy-efficient. So if you’re looking to upgrade your home and save money in the process, be sure to check if your state is participating in this exciting program.
