Southern California January 2024 Home Sales Data Released by CoreLogic®
The housing market in Southern California continues to show strength as CoreLogic® releases its monthly residential home sales numbers for January 2024. The data includes information on new and resale single-family homes and resale condominiums from six counties in the region: Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, San Diego, and Ventura.
In terms of median home sales prices, the overall region saw a year-over-year increase of 5.3%, with the median sales price for all tracked properties reaching $705,000 in January. Orange County once again led the pack with a median sales price of $1.1 million, followed by San Diego, Los Angeles, Ventura, Riverside, and San Bernardino.
When looking at the year-over-year changes in median sales prices for each county, Orange County saw the largest increase at 12.1%, while Riverside had the smallest increase at 2.1%. Despite varying growth rates, all counties in the region experienced gains in home prices.
In terms of home sales activity, Southern California saw a 6.6% increase in home sales volume compared to January 2023. Orange County led the way with a 12.9% annual increase, followed by Riverside, Los Angeles, San Bernardino, and Ventura. San Diego County was the only county to show no change in year-over-year home sales volume.
Overall, the housing market in Southern California remains robust, with both home prices and sales activity on the rise. It will be interesting to see how these trends continue throughout the rest of the year.
