Celebrity Chef Turned Interior Designer Travis London Finds Inspiration in Miami
Celebrity chef turned interior designer Travis London has found a new home and creative inspiration in the vibrant city of Miami. Tired of the seasonal depression in New York, London made the move to Miami in early 2020 in search of a fresh start. His love for design was sparked by the late fashion designer Gianni Versace, who inspired London to model his own bedroom after Versace’s iconic Lake Como boudoir.
After stumbling upon a 1940 townhouse in South Beach with stunning Art Deco detailing, London initially thought the space was too large for him and his three poodles. However, he quickly fell in love with the property and saw it as the perfect canvas to express his design vision. The home now serves as a showcase for his design business, Studio London Co., where he can fully immerse himself in his passion for interior design.
In a similar vein, a couple in Chicago enlisted the help of designer Jessica LaGrange to transform their outdated co-op into a high-end, Art Deco-inspired sanctuary. The grand Gold Coast flat, originally built in the 1920s, had retained its original layout but needed a modern refresh. LaGrange’s design expertise and attention to detail helped create a space that seamlessly blended the building’s history with contemporary luxury.
With custom terrazzo-and-bronze designs and art pieces by Jacob Hashimoto, the Chicago pied-Ã -terre exudes a high-contrast, Art Deco style that takes the couple’s love for art and design to the next level. Both Travis London and Jessica LaGrange showcase the power of design to transform spaces and inspire creativity in their respective projects.
