Contractors Needed for MFA’s Home Improvement Program – Up to $5 Million in Funding Available
Contractors in New Mexico have the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of residents through the New Mexico Mortgage Finance Authority (MFA) Home Improvement Program. With up to $5 million in funding available, contractors can provide home rehabilitation services to eligible homeowners in need.
The MFA’s Home Improvement Program focuses on repairing, reconstructing, and rehabilitating homes for income-qualified homeowners. This includes making energy-saving conservation improvements, eliminating health and safety hazards, enhancing accessibility for disabled or elderly individuals, and more. Interested contractors can download the Request for Qualifications from the MFA website.
Approved contractors must have the necessary licenses and insurance to participate in the program. By working with MFA, contractors can help provide much-needed home rehabilitation services to New Mexicans who cannot afford them on their own.
In fiscal year 2023, MFA’s HOME Rehabilitation and Weatherization Programs assisted 859 individuals and expended over $7.6 million on projects. For more information on becoming an approved contractor, interested parties can email rehab@housingnm.org.
The MFA was established in 1975 to provide affordable housing opportunities for all New Mexico residents. Through various housing programs, MFA has helped over 500,000 families access affordable housing and services. To learn more about MFA and its programs, visit www.housingnm.org.
